Amelia has been posing for remarkable photographs titled Amelia and the Animals since she was three years old with both exotic and domestic animals. The model's mother is also the series' photographer, Robin Schwartz.
Amelia, age 3, and Ricky the chimpanzee are pictured in the book's opening image, which was captured in 2002. According to Schwartz, who published Like Us: Primate Portraits in 1993, she met some "chimp people" who then helped open doors to access additional exotic species, such as the elephants and tiger cubs that Amelia has also taken pictures of.
According to Schwartz, her daughter is a natural around animals and has a calming impact on them while displaying "enormous tenacity and resourcefulness in interacting with each unique animal with care and respect."
